Outlook for Google@Wharton

Follow

Wharton Computing does not recommend configuring other email clients such as Outlook for use with Google@Wharton accounts. Google Mail is optimized for use with web browsers, and specifically Chrome. However, if you would like to use Outlook, here are the links to setting up Outlook for Windows and Mac systems.

Microsoft Outlook for Windows

We recommend using the Google tool to set up Outlook with your Wharton account:

https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync .

If you have already set up an Outlook profile with a personal account, most students prefer to use the Add Account option to add their Wharton account to their Outlook profile. (You can also set up a separate profile, but most students find that inconvenient, as you can only use one profile at a time).

Sync Note: If you notice that Outlook stops syncing with your account after you've been using it for a while, try updating the Google Sync client by clicking the link above and re-downloading and installing it.

You may also wish to set up your courses and events in your Outlook calendar.

  • You can NOT edit them

  5. Choose to open the calendar in Microsoft Outlook and click OK.

Windows 8 / Outlook 2013: You may be asked if you meant to switch apps. Say Yes.

  6. Outlook will ask, "Add this Internet Calendar to Outlook and subscribe to updates? Choose Yes.

  7. Outlook will open your subscribed calendar next to your personal calendar. We recommend this method because a lot of event feeds have multiple events that would make your personal calendar crowded if you decided to open the calendar directly in your personal calendar.

Microsoft Outlook for Mac

Office 365 provides Outlook 2016 for all Mac users whose OSs are at version 10.10 or above.

These directions should apply to both the 2011 and 2016 versions of Outlook for Mac.
